What is the Customer & Distribution Internship Scheme?
The scheme consists of an 8 week immersive dive into the world of our customer and client activities which includes insight sessions on the M&G Plc business units to provide a wide base of exposure within the company. Customer & Distribution interns can also attend specific business info sessions to enhance their learning and ensure they have the opportunity to discuss day to day activities and gain insight into the lives of our highly successful wealth, digital and marketing professionals. Each intern will be allocated a buddy from our graduate cohort who will provide informal support and promote integration with the M&G Plc family. You’ll also have the opportunity to attend networking and social events which are essential for getting to know colleagues across the business encouraged at M&G Plc.
What will you do?
You will learn from our industry leading professionals and will be encouraged to present your own views and ideas. Interns at M&G Plc make valuable contributions to the teams they work in and will be involved in a variety of activities focused on our customers and clients. The nature of the work will vary dependent on the business area and team that you are placed with, but through collaboration with your assigned manager there is always opportunity to tailor the internship to the areas you are most keen to experience while remaining open to new and exciting areas on offer at M&G Plc.
You will be positioned in a team in one of the following areas:
Brand & Marketing: A Global Marketing function, we inspire people to plan for a better future and choose M&G Plc to make it happen. Our Global and UK Channel Teams deliver high-value marketing activity and campaigns to meet the diverse needs of our customers and clients around the world, supported by Centres of Excellence that drive the overall strategy, brand, digital enablement and risk and controls. There are a range of projects you could be involved in from assisting on new marketing campaigns for our flagship PruFund to engaging in reviewing the success of our campaigns and agreeing strategies to refocus and improve them.
Wealth: M&G Wealth is a new but key area of the business, combining our Platform, Advice and distribution functions for the UK market. Customers and advisers sit at the heart of our business as we look to develop innovative solutions and grow the business. You will have the opportunity to work in one of our Wealth teams and be involved in a range of projects based on critical and meaningful business requirements. You could be supporting one of our sprints using and learning Agile methods from our industry leading professionals, presenting your own views and ideas, and understanding operations environments seeing the ‘front line’ in action to provide critical foundation insight and experience.
Digital: The Digital area works right across the business to ensure the technology we develop opens new opportunities or solves valuable problems for customers, advisers and M&G. The teams cover user experience & research, service design, and digital product management – everything required to uncover new hypotheses and problems, take them through customer-centric design and support the delivery into the hands of our customers. You could be involved in speaking to our customers to uncover new opportunities, understanding the challenges our colleagues face, or investigating new innovations we can bring to M&G. You will learn about the lifecycle of digital products and how to go from an idea to something that is making the lives of real customers better as well as making a positive impact on the planet through sustainability.
