Job title: Engineering Intern – Diageo Abercrombie
Duration: 8-12 weeks
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Salary: £19k per annum pro rata

Diageo Abercrombie is a strategic coppersmithing, stainless steel fabrication and engineering facility retained to ensure the ongoing preservation of skilled craftspeople who are required to maintain the company’s production assets with a priority on copper.

The management team and craftspeople support major capital investment programmes and maintenance activities across all the company’s malt and grain distilleries, maturation sites and packaging facilities which cover a wide and diverse geographical area.

Working on a selection of projects, the role will require working alongside the site leadership team and Supplier Teams. You will focus on supporting the ongoing development, improvement and embedding of health and safety processes, competencies and Engineering standards that are necessary to ensure the management team and workforce are suitably aware, prepared, supported and trained to safely facilitate the delivery of operational objectives. Furthermore, this role will provide additional support to the leadership team running improvement projects within the Abercrombie facility.

You will also experience all elements of the operations management and process improvement. The role will require a strong, self-directing individual who can learn quickly to become part of the leadership team.

You will gain valuable experience of delivering live projects utilising your existing Engineering knowledge, whilst gaining valuable industrial experience and project management skills.

• Electrical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
