About the Role

My World of Work Live is an engaging and interactive programme to inspire young people into careers across a wide range of skills and occupations which are of critical importance to the Scottish Economy now and in the future.

The purpose of this role is to develop and deliver the My World of Work Live interactive experience aimed at P5-S6 across the Highlands and Islands. This will include the delivery of planned programmes of inspiring activities and workshops to school groups and the public.

This is a full time, permanent role based in Inverness. Annual salary £33,094 – £38,552.

This role will require travel throughout the Highlands & Islands area, so it is essential that you possess a full current driving licence and have access to a vehicle, or alternative means of transport e.g. Access to Work support.

There will also be occasional work outside of normal working hours (infrequent evenings and during the weekend) to maximise the service offer.

About You

You’ll be educated to degree level (SCQF 9) ideally in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) subject or be able to demonstrate equivalent work-based experience in the STEM sector.

You’ll have experience of working with and engaging young people and will have the interpersonal skills required to communicate, enthuse and inspire. We need you to excite them about the world of work!

Proficient technical/ICT skills are also required. We use robotics, coding, gamification, augmented reality and virtual reality to deliver MyWoW Live, full training will be provided to support you with these skills. Ideally, you’ll have experience of working within the Scottish Skills system.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check.
